Jennie Iantha Hunt [1870-1944]

  Jennie Iantha Hunt was born near Unionville, Appanoose County, Iowa, 18 December 1870, daughter of Amblin Wyman Hunt and Lydia Martha Dukes, died 28 April 1944 at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Centerville, Appanoose County, Iowa, and was buried in the Eaton Cemetery, Unionville, Appanoose County, Iowa.
  She was married at the home of her parents in Unionville, Appanoose County, Iowa, by H. H. McNair, 9 September 1891, to Ira Melzine Patrick, who was born in Poweshiek County, Iowa, 9 November 1869, son of William Moderal Patrick and Elizabeth Jane Hardin, who died in Seymour, Wayne County, Iowa, 9 September 1942, and who was buried in Eaton Cemetery, Unionville, Appanoose County, Iowa. 
  Six children were born to this marriage:  Rhoda Estella Patrick, Martha Jane Patrick, Clyde Minten Patrick, Lora Geneva Patrick, Ward Taylor Patrick and Florence Ruth Patrick.

  MRS. PATRICK TAKEN BY DEATH DUE TO INJURY -Well Known Resident of Unionville and Seymour Communities Dies Following Fall - Mrs. I. M. Patrick, 73, long time and well known resident of the Unionville, Iowa, and Seymour communities, died at the St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital today at 12:30 p.m. following a long illness superinduced by an accidental fall in which she suffered a broken hip.  She had been in the hospital for a period of six weeks.
  She was preceded in death by her husband a year ago in September.
  Iantha Hunt was born and raised at Unionville, and there united in marriage with I. M. Patrick.  They then made their home there until 1917 when they moved to Seymour where they lived until his death, and Mrs. Patrick's subsequent removal to Unionville.
  In death she leaves three children, Mrs. Martha Cross, of Unionville, Clyde Patrick, of Cedar Rapids, and Lora Hawkins, of Seymour.
  She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Minnie Hopkins, of Humboldt, Kansas.
  Mrs. Patrick was a member of the United Brethen church and the Eastern Star order.  She was well known and had a large number of friends who mour her death.  Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced later.

  LAST RITES FOR MRS. PATRICK TO BE HELD SUNDAY - Funeral services for Mrs. I. M. Patrick will be held Sunday at 2:30 o'clock at the Baptist church in Unionville, Ia. The Rev. Mr. Cleaton will officiate and burial will be in the Eaton cemetery.

  Mrs. Mel Patrick Taken By Death - Jennie Iantha Hunt, daughter of Amblin and Lydia Hunt, was born Dec. 18, 1870, near Unionville, Appanoose County, Iowa, and passed away at St. Joseph's Hosptial, Centerville, April 28, 1944, at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 10 days.
  She was united in marriage with I. M. Patrick, Sept. 9, 1891, who preceded her in death Sept. 9, 1942.  To this union six children were born, three having passed away in infancy.  Those surviving are: Mrs. Martha Cross of Unionville, Iowa, Clyde M. Patrick of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Lora Hawkins of Seymour.
  There are eleven grandchildren as follows:  [----] and [----] Cross of DeKalb, Illinois; [----] and [----] Cross in the service of the Merchant Marines, [----] and [----] Cross of Unionville, Ila Patrick of Cedar Rapids, and [----], [----], [----] and William Richard Hawkins of Seymour. One sister, Mrs. Minnie Hopkins of Humboldt, Kansas, survives.  Also one great grandson, [----] Cross of DeKalb, Illinois.
  Mr. and Mrs. Patrick made their home at Unionville, Iowa, until 1917 when they moved to a farm near Seymour.
  In the fall of 1938 they moved to Seymour, where she made her home until in January of this year when she returned to Unionville.
  On March 13 she fell and suffered a broken hip, at which time she was taken to St. Joseph Hospital where she had been a patient sufferer for the past six weeks.
  When a young girl she became a member of the United Brethern church.  She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and The Order of Eastern Star.
  Funeral services were held at the Unionville Baptist Church, Sunday, April 30th at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. W. M. Cleeton of Seymour.
  Music was by Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Boyer, Loren Alden and Miss Geraldine Harington with Mrs. Brown pianist.
  Interment was made in Benton [sic] cemetery, near Unionville, Iowa.
